After more than a year of engineering, machining, development, and real-world testing, NRW Design is proud to introduce the NRW Design S58 Billet Valve Cover—a purpose-built solution for S58 owners who demand greater strength, durability, crankcase management, and craftsmanship from their builds.

The factory S58 valve cover is manufactured from plastic and incorporates BMW’s factory PCV system. While adequate for factory applications, age, repeated heat cycling, increased power, and elevated crankcase demands can expose limitations in components originally designed around OEM operating conditions.

NRW Design approached the problem differently.

Rather than simply recreating the factory cover in another material, we engineered a valve cover specifically around the requirements of high-performance and high-horsepower S58 applications.

MACHINED FROM A SINGLE BLOCK OF 6061 BILLET ALUMINUM

Every NRW Design S58 Valve Cover begins as a solid block of 6061 billet aluminum and is precision CNC-machined in-house. The result is a substantially more rigid structure with excellent dimensional stability and resistance to the repeated heat cycles experienced in demanding street, track, and high-horsepower applications. That rigidity also provides a precision-machined sealing surface designed to maintain consistent gasket compression without relying on a molded plastic structure.

No cast construction. No multi-piece main housing. One solid billet foundation engineered for strength.

PURPOSE-BUILT CRANKCASE MANAGEMENT

This is not simply a billet copy of the factory valve cover.

The NRW Design design eliminates the factory PCV system and utilizes an external catch-can configuration, allowing crankcase ventilation to be configured around the requirements of the vehicle and its power level.

Two integrated 12-ORB ports utilizing -12AN swivel fittings provide large, robust connections for routing crankcase ventilation to an external catch-can system. As horsepower, cylinder pressure, and blow-by increase, properly managing crankcase pressure becomes increasingly important. Our system was designed with exactly these types of builds in mind. Catch-can components, hoses, additional fittings, and plumbing are sold separately.

Throughout our testing, the valve cover and crankcase ventilation configuration have performed as intended, managing crankcase pressure without related check-engine-light issues.
