For years, we’ve been building and modifying our own vehicles with one philosophy in mind: as performance increases, reliability needs to increase with it.

Adding horsepower is only part of building a properly engineered performance vehicle. Increased power brings additional heat and greater demands on supporting systems, which is why components such as brakes and the cooling system should never be overlooked.

When we began developing our S58 shop car, upgrading the cooling system was already on our radar. We have always trusted industry-leading cooling components from CSF, but we also recognized another area that deserved attention: the factory coolant hoses.

Samco has long been recognized as an industry leader in high-performance silicone hoses. However, new platforms don’t always receive these types of upgrades immediately. We felt the S58 community shouldn’t have to wait, so we set out to develop a comprehensive silicone hose solution for enthusiasts looking to improve the durability and reliability of their cooling system.

WHY UPGRADE TO NRW DESIGN SILICONE HOSES?

Higher Temperature Resistance
Our multi-layer silicone construction is designed to withstand sustained temperatures and repeated heat cycles better than conventional OEM-style rubber hoses.

Improved Pressure Capability
Reinforced silicone construction provides increased resistance to expansion and deformation as cooling-system temperatures and pressures rise.

Improved Long-Term Durability
Silicone offers excellent resistance to ozone, UV exposure, and thermal degradation, helping reduce the hardening, cracking, and deterioration commonly associated with aging rubber components.

Designed for High-Performance Applications
Higher horsepower, track use, upgraded cooling systems, and increased under-hood temperatures place additional demands on cooling-system components. Reinforced silicone hoses provide an additional margin of durability for these demanding environments.

Greater Structural Consistency
The reinforced construction helps the hoses maintain their shape under demanding conditions, reducing their tendency to swell or collapse.

An Opportunity to Address Aging OEM Components
BMW cooling systems incorporate molded rubber hoses, plastic connectors, and other components that experience thousands of heat cycles throughout their service life. Upgrading the hoses allows these areas to be addressed as part of a comprehensive cooling-system refresh.

MORE THAN A BASIC HOSE KIT

We didn’t want to develop a kit that addressed only a handful of hoses. Our S58 kit covers more of the cooling system because we believe that if you’re going through the process of upgrading, it makes sense to address as much of the system as possible at the same time.

Installation retains the factory connectors and utilizes the supplied OEM-style crimp clamps to secure the new silicone hoses. For the easiest installation, we recommend removing and replacing one hose at a time. Place the factory hose and corresponding NRW Design silicone hose side by side, transfer the necessary factory connectors, and secure them using the supplied clamps.

The crimp-style clamps supplied with the kit are similar to those found on the factory hose assemblies and require the appropriate crimping tool to achieve a secure, proper seal.

One thing we want to make clear: silicone hoses alone do not inherently make your engine run cooler. If a factory hose is functioning properly, replacing it with silicone will not automatically reduce coolant temperature.

The advantage is reliability, heat resistance, pressure tolerance, and long-term durability.

When horsepower increases, heat is an unavoidable byproduct. At NRW Design, we believe supporting systems should be upgraded alongside performance—and our S58 silicone hose kit was developed to provide another layer of reliability for enthusiasts pushing the platform beyond what BMW originally intended.
