NRW Design is at it again with yet another industry first.  The NRW Design S58 billet aluminum valve cover for the BMW S58.  

In early 2024 NRW set out on a mission to solve the issue many were having with their factory plastic S58 valve cover.  That was tabs breaking and the valve cover splitting.  We had over a handful of people reach out to us with this issue and we felt it was time to really step up again deliver what is today a proven solution to this issue.  NRW Design is a boutique manufacturing company that has been working on breaking into the market with a lot of big players.  Players that would really not like anyone else in their market.  So we felt we really had our mission cut out for us and to provide a true working piece of art and a valve cover that by all means checked every box.  Unfortunately, this was not going to be a cheap or short road ahead. 

NRW started with reverse engineering the factory valve cover.  3d scanning it with our Creaform Black scanner to get the best resolution we could get from our scan.  We then went to work with 100's of hours of redesign to get it where we knew we had a working model.  NRW Design then sent out the file to a local 3D printing company so we could cost effectively see our first prototype in real form.   Having an engine on a stand we were able to make adjustments to the model to get it to fit exactly like the factory, using factory O-rings and gaskets.  We then went to machining and ran our first true valve cover.  

Through testing and development we had to go though several renditions to get it to preform as we wanted it to.  Testing on Single Turbo Cars as well as the factory/hybrid variants.  We used some of what we learned from other projects and applied that to this to be able to offer a perfect solution to those experiencing issues with their stock valve cover.  

Blocks of aluminum this size is not cheap and we have really tried to work on cost to make this affordable as it can be to help with those looking for another option to their issues.  This takes almost 40 machine hours to produce and some really expensive equipment to make it happen.  We feel we have checked all the boxes to what we set out to do and have been working on some more items to help support the valve cover and other turbo kits that are currently on the market.  We cant wait to share those with you in the coming weeks.
